MatchHeadlines.com is a space
built for sports fans to enjoy, connect, and share their passion for the
game. I take the safety and wellbeing of this community seriously. This page
explains what counts as abuse on this site, how to report it, and what happens
when a report is made.
What Counts as Abuse?
Not every disagreement or
strongly worded comment counts as abuse. Healthy debate and passionate sports opinions are part of what makes this community great. However, the following
behaviours will not be tolerated:
Harassment and Personal Attacks
Targeting another user
repeatedly, sending threatening messages, or making comments designed to
intimidate, bully, or humiliate someone.
Hate Speech and Discrimination
Any content that attacks or
demeans a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual
orientation, disability, or nationality. There is zero tolerance for this on
MatchHeadlines.com.
Threats and Incitement
Threatening violence or harm
against any individual or group, whether directly or indirectly. This includes
subtle language intended to incite hostility.
Spam and Malicious Content
Repeated posting of irrelevant,
promotional, or disruptive content. This also includes links to harmful,
illegal, or deceptive websites.
Impersonation
Pretending to be another user, a
public figure, or anyone connected to MatchHeadlines.com in order to mislead
others.
Privacy Violations
Sharing another person's private
information, such as phone numbers, addresses, or personal details, without
their consent. This is sometimes called 'doxxing' and is taken extremely
seriously.
Illegal Content
Any content that breaks Nigerian
law or applicable international law, including defamatory statements, content
that sexualises minors, or anything that facilitates criminal activity.
How to Report Abuse
If you come across content or
behaviour that you believe violates these guidelines, here is what to do:
1.
Send an email directly to:
Matchheadlinesdesk@gmail.com. Please include as much detail as possible, such
as the username involved, the content in question, and any screenshots if
available.
2.
Be as specific as you can. Vague reports are harder to
act on. Let me know exactly what was said, where it appeared, and when.
3.
If you believe a crime has been committed or someone is
in immediate danger, please also contact the relevant local authorities. I am a
blog, not a law enforcement body, and some situations require official
intervention.
What Happens After a Report?
I review every report
personally. Here is what you can expect:
•
I will assess whether the reported content or behaviour
breaches the House Rules or Terms and Conditions.
•
If it does, the content will be removed and the user
may receive a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban depending on
the severity of the breach.
•
Repeated or serious violations will result in a
permanent ban from the site with no right of appeal.
•
I will not share the identity of the person who made
the report with the reported user.
•
Due to the volume of reports and the solo nature of
this operation, I cannot always provide individual updates on every case, but I
do read and act on every report.
False or Malicious Reports
Reporting someone simply because
you disagree with their opinion, or using the abuse system to target another
user unfairly, is itself a form of abuse. If I find that reports are being
submitted in bad faith, the reporting user may also face action.
A Note
on Tone
Passion is welcome here.
Sports gets the blood pumping and debates can get lively. But there is always
a line between passionate and personal, between strong and cruel. I ask
everyone in this community to respect that line.
If you are ever unsure whether
something crosses the line, ask yourself: would you say it to someone's face in
a stadium? If not, it probably does not belong here either.
