Welcome to my new blog, MatchHeadlines.com. This is the
third blog I have started in under two years.
I previously
ran Amamatazgist.com, TheApexInfo.com, and SportsFanArena.com.
All of them were built on WordPress, but over time I realised something
important: I find it very difficult to blog about anything outside football.
Let me tell you the full story.
Amamatazgist.com: Where It All Started
So when I started Amamatazgist.com, I was confused about
what I was doing. I was blogging on every topic I could find, and it was really
exhausting. Like, genuinely exhausting.
On top of that, many of my friends didn’t like the name
“Amamatazgist.” The pressure to change it was there. At the same time,
constantly seeing bad news coming out of Nigeria started affecting my mental
health in a way I couldn’t ignore.
So I decided to change the name, and that was how
TheApexInfo.com came into existence.
TheApexInfo.com: A Name Change That Didn’t Change the
Problem
I rebranded to TheApexInfo.com and continued blogging
general news, but the problem remained the same.
There was not a single day I saw good news about Nigeria. If
they were not killing, they were bombing, burning, stealing, or defiling
minors. Bad news every blessed day. At a point, I became afraid of even going
outside or traveling. I saw the country as a totally destroyed nation.
One night, after writing about a terrorist attack on the
military in Borno, I had a serious conversation with myself before going to
sleep. That night, I made a decision: I had to stop blogging general news. My
mind was made up.
The only problem was that the name TheApexInfo.com no longer
represented the new niche I was aiming at. So I started searching for a new
name. And finally, a friend gave me the name SportsFanArena.com.
SportsFanArena.com: Five Months of Struggle
With SportsFanArena.com, I fully switched to sports
blogging. At first, I covered everything in sports, and I stuck with it for
over five months.
But I was not truly connected to it.
I don’t enjoy other sports the way I love football. Football
is what excites me, and everything else felt distant. I kept telling myself I
would eventually grow into it, but it only became more frustrating.
I knew success would not come instantly, but forcing myself
into something without passion made progress difficult.
To make matters worse, hackers were trying to access my
account more than 20 times a day. Whether they were bots or real humans,
receiving over 20 threat alert emails daily for an entire month (about 600
emails per month) was extremely draining. And it happened for more than three
months.
And no! I was not idle. I was also fighting back by changing
passwords and installing security plugins. But still, the problem persisted.
Believe me, it was really frustrating.
MatchHeadlines.com: A Fresh Start
So I decided to try again.
This time, I moved away from WordPress and started fresh on
Blogger.com. That is how MatchHeadlines was born.
My focus here is clear: football first. Match previews,
match reports, and everything around the beautiful game will always come first.
Other sports may come later, but football is the heart of it all.
As for WordPress, I may return someday. But for now, I need
to focus on building this platform properly.
At the moment, I have not even officially purchased the
domain MatchHeadlines.com. I do not know if it will still be available when I
am ready, but I am moving forward regardless.
I pray this becomes my final stop and the platform where I
achieve my goals in blogging, because I genuinely enjoy football content. I
love talking about the game.
I Also Write Books
One more thing: I write books. I write fiction and religious
books as well. You will start seeing them here soon as I move into online
publishing before the end of March 2026.
So stay around. If MatchHeadlines doesn’t give you something
to talk about, my books definitely will.
One way or another, there will always be something here
worth your time.
