Today’s Premier League Results: Man Utd Thrash Ipswich as Chelsea Win Seven-Goal Thriller

Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick to help Manchester United storm back and beat Ipswich Town 5-1, headlining a busy afternoon of Premier League action on Sunday.

United fell behind early when Leif Davis fired in a smart half-volley after good work down the wing from Abdul Fatawu. But the game flipped when Ipswich's Marcelino Nunez slipped near his own box, letting United break away and set up Fernandes for the equaliser. 

Harry Maguire then put the hosts ahead, his shot deflecting in off Jacob Greaves for an own goal that was allowed to stand despite the ball hitting Maguire's arm on the way through, since replays showed he didn't score it directly.

Greaves had a game to forget, giving away a penalty just minutes later for a foul on Matheus Cunha, which Fernandes converted for his second. He completed his hat-trick soon after, pouncing on a loose ball following blocked shots from Kobbie Mainoo and Bryan Mbeumo. Fernandes then turned provider, setting up Mbeumo to make it 5-1. Ipswich grabbed a late consolation through substitute Chuba Akpom.

It's been a big week for Fernandes, who was named the PFA's men's player of the year before adding another hat-trick to his United collection, his third since joining the club. United piled forward all game, managing 33 shots, their highest total in a Premier League match since 2016.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Chelsea won a thriller at Stamford Bridge, beating Brighton 4-3 to keep their unbeaten run going. It was also a memorable debut for new signing Emiliano Martinez, who got his first taste of action in a Chelsea shirt.

At Elland Road, Leeds fought back from a shaky first half to draw 1-1 with Brentford, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin netting his first goal of the season. Both sides remain unbeaten so far this campaign.

And at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland picked up their first Premier League win of the season, edging out Fulham 1-0 thanks to a goal from substitute Wilson Isidor in a scrappy, low-quality contest.
