Premier League Results: Chelsea Held by Hull, Liverpool Draw at Fulham, Forest Shock Villa
Chelsea failed to beat bottom club Hull City, Fulham picked up their first point of the season, and Nottingham Forest won at Aston Villa for the first time in over three decades, in a busy day of Premier League action.
Chelsea 2-2 Hull City
Joao Pedro's second-half strike rescued a point for Chelsea as they were held 2-2 at home by promoted Hull City.
Morgan Rogers put Chelsea ahead in just the seventh minute, but Hull hit back before the break through two goals from Mohamed Belloumi. Rogers, a £117m signing from Aston Villa, beat his marker before firing home for Chelsea's opener, a rare early goal given the club had scored later in their previous three league games.
Hull levelled in the 28th minute when left-back Jorrel Hato lost track of Belloumi, who volleyed home a cross from Ryan Giles. Belloumi then added a second before half-time, poking home a loose ball that ricocheted off the crossbar after a header from Semi Ajayi.
Chelsea pushed hard after the break, and Joao Pedro finally got the equaliser in the 66th minute, smashing in a low cross from Cole Palmer. Neither side could find a winner, though Hull's Mohamed-Ali Cho had the best late chance and fired well wide.
The result leaves Hull third and Chelsea fourth, though Chelsea have played more games than most of the teams above and below them.
Fulham 0-0 Liverpool
Fulham earned their first league point of the season, holding Liverpool to a goalless draw just days after the Reds beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa, who used to play for Liverpool, made two changes to his side and saw them put in a strong shift. Fulham should have led early on when Jeremy Jacquet had to clear the ball off the line following a mix-up between Liverpool keeper Alisson and Ryan Gravenberch.
Liverpool improved after half-time substitutions but could not find a breakthrough. Alexander Isak headed wide from a corner deep into injury time as Fulham held firm for a point that eases some of the pressure on Arbeloa after three straight defeats.
Aston Villa 1-2 Nottingham Forest
Substitute Igor Jesus scored two minutes from time to give Nottingham Forest their first win at Aston Villa in 32 years, leaving Villa still searching for their first league win of the season.
Liam Delap opened the scoring for Forest, his first goal since his £50m move from Chelsea in the summer. Alysson equalised for Villa, their first league goal this season, but Forest were the better side for most of the match. Villa boss Unai Emery has urged patience as his side continue to rebuild, but Jesus's late strike will add to the pressure.
Bournemouth 2-2 Brentford
Bournemouth boss Marco Rose is still waiting for his first Premier League win after his side drew 2-2 at home to Brentford.
Kevin Schade put Brentford ahead with a header in the 34th minute, but Bournemouth hit back through Justin Kluivert. Marcus Tavernier then put the Cherries in front early in the second half, only for Schade to grab his second and level things up soon after, lobbing goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic. Bournemouth almost snatched a late winner when a deflected shot from substitute Ben Gannon-Doak hit the woodwork, but the game ended level.
Bournemouth have three points from four games, while Brentford, under Keith Andrews, now have six.
Crystal Palace 2-3 Ipswich Town
Zian Flemming scored a dramatic late winner as 10-man Crystal Palace lost 3-2 at home to Ipswich Town, who picked up their second league win of the season.
Palace led through Anan Khalaili after 14 minutes, but Ipswich hit back through Emersonn. Palace's task got harder when Axel Disasi was sent off for a dangerous tackle, and Ipswich took advantage, going ahead just before half-time through Leif Davis.
Jorgen Strand Larsen looked to have earned Palace a point with a goal in the 75th minute, but Ipswich were not finished. Davis headed against the bar deep into stoppage time, and substitute Flemming forced the rebound over the line to seal the win.
