Super Eagles Camp Swells to 23 as Ndidi and Chukwueze Arrive

Nigeria's Super Eagles camp is now up to 23 players after Wilfred Ndidi and Samuel Chukwueze linked up with the squad ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

All 23 players were involved in the team's first training session as they build up to the opening game against Madagascar.

Nigeria go into the match with a strong record against the Malagasy side in AFCON qualifying. The Super Eagles have never lost to Madagascar in qualifiers and have never conceded a goal against them in that competition either. Out of four previous meetings, Nigeria have won three and drawn one, scoring five goals in total without letting one in.

The one blemish on their overall head to head came outside of qualifying, at the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt, where Madagascar beat the three time African champions 2-0 in the last group game. Both sides still went through to the knockout stage from that group.

The full 23 man group currently in camp includes Simon Moses, Akor Adams, Taiwo Awoniyi, Isaac James, Emmanuel Fernandez, Benjamin Fredericks, Moses Uzor, George Ilenikhena, Arthur Okonkwo, Alex Iwobi, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Chibuike Nwaiwu, Tolu Arokodare, Bruno Onyemaechi, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze and Stanley Nwabali.
