UEFA Confirms Allianz Arena for 2028 Champions League Final, Camp Nou for 2029

UEFA has confirmed where its major club finals will be played for the next four years, following a key meeting of the organisation's Executive Committee in Thessaloniki, Greece. The same meeting also approved changes to how the Nations League will work from 2028 onward.

Champions League Heads to Munich, Then Barcelona

The men's Champions League final will be held in Munich in 2028, returning to the Munich Arena and to Bayern Munich's home turf for the first time since the famous 2012 final there.

In 2029, the final moves to Barcelona, where it will be staged at the newly rebuilt Spotify Camp Nou. It will be the first European final the stadium hosts since 1999, and it will do so as the largest stadium in Europe following its renovation.

Europa League and Conference League Finals Set Too

UEFA also confirmed venues for its other two men's club competitions.

The Europa League final will be played at the National Arena in Bucharest in 2028, before moving to the Serbia National Stadium in Belgrade in 2029.

The Conference League final goes to the Juventus Stadium in Turin in 2028, followed by the Puskas Arena in Budapest in 2029.

Women's Champions League and Super Cup Also Get New Homes

The women's game was not left out of the announcements. The Women's Champions League final will be held at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon Decines in 2028, then at the Wales National Stadium in Cardiff in 2029.

The UEFA Super Cup will take place at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam in 2027, before heading further afield to the Astana Arena in Kazakhstan in 2028, a move that appears aimed at growing the competition's reach beyond its usual European base.

The Futsal Champions League final, meanwhile, will be staged at the Biel/Bienne Arena in Switzerland in 2027.

Nations League Format Set for a Shake-Up

Beyond the final venues, the Executive Committee also approved a change to how promotion and relegation will work in the Nations League starting with the 2026/27 season.

The adjustment is meant to smooth the path toward a bigger structural change agreed back in May 2026. From the 2028/29 season, the competition will be trimmed from four groups down to three, a move designed to make matches more competitive.

Next Meeting Set for Belfast

UEFA closed out the meeting by confirming its next Executive Committee gathering will take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on 7 December. That date falls just one day after the Euro 2028 qualifying draw, which is also being held in Belfast.
