18 Super Falcons Players in Camp as Four Withdraw Ahead of Comoros Olympic Qualifiers
Eighteen players are in the Super Falcons' camp in Ijebu-Ode as Nigeria get ready for their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying tie against Comoros.
Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne and Janet Akekoromowei are the latest to arrive. Fourteen players took part in Monday's training session at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne, where the team started work on the two-legged second-round tie.
More players are still on the way. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie and Comfort Erhabor, defender Michelle Alozie and forwards Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu and Joy Omewa are all expected to join.
Asisat Oshoala, Oluwatosin Demehin, Ashleigh Plumptre and Flourish Sabastine will not be part of the squad. They have pulled out of the qualifiers for different reasons. Oluchi Omenazu has been called up for the first time for the clash.
Comoros are listed as the home side for the first leg on Friday, October 9, with Nigeria hosting the return on Tuesday, October 13. Both games will be played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, since Comoros do not have a stadium approved by the Confederation of African Football.
The players currently in camp are:
Goalkeeper: Christiana Uzoma
Defenders: Farida Abdulwahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Valentina Uroko, Glory Edet, Shukurat Oladipo and Glory Ogbonna
Midfielders: Oluchi Omenazu, Joy Igbokwe, Fatimoh Solaty, Suliat Abideen, Christy Ucheibe and Toni Payne
Forwards: Shakirat Moshood, Blessing Nkor, Sandra John and Janet Akekoromowei
