Kompany Says He Is 'Proud' of His Man City Years Despite Guilty Verdict

Former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has said he remains proud of what the club achieved while he was there, even though City have been found guilty of more than 100 breaches of Premier League financial rules.

An independent commission ruled that City broke the rules over nine seasons, from 2009-10 to 2017-18. That period covers three of the four Premier League titles Kompany won at the club.

Kompany spent more than a decade at City, from 2008 to 2019. He also won the FA Cup twice and the League Cup four times.

The Bayern Munich head coach kept his focus on football. "I played 11 years for the club. I've loved all of the years I played for the club and everything we achieved and done on the pitch, that's something I'm really proud of," he said.

He then made it clear he wants no part in the argument. "Everything else, as a player you're not a part of that and right now as a coach of Bayern Munich I'm not too much occupied with that topic as I'm preparing the game next week and preparing the game we have tomorrow and everything I have as a coach," he added.
