Kyle Walker Fears Having Man City Tattoo Removed if Titles Are Stripped
Kyle Walker says he may have to get a tattoo removed with laser surgery if Manchester City are stripped of their titles, though he hopes it never comes to that.
The Burnley defender has "four in a row" inked on his leg, a nod to City's run of league wins from 2021 to 2024.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he was asked if he would have it taken off if the honours were lost. "Well I'm probably going to have to do that bit! I'll try and keep it on, but hopefully we don't get things taken away," he said.Kyle Walker has a ‘4 IN A ROW’ tattoo, marking an achievement like no other in English football. 🏆🏆🏆🏆 https://t.co/iyWcdqgEq7

The question comes after an independent commission found City guilty of 114 breaches of Premier League financial rules. The charges mostly centre on claims that the club inflated its commercial income through sponsorship deals that were not genuine. City strongly deny the claims and have appealed the verdict.
If the ruling stands, the punishments could range from a big fine and a transfer ban to a points deduction heavy enough to send the club down to the Championship. City could also be stripped of titles from the period in question, which would put the six league titles Walker won between 2017 and 2025 in doubt.
Walker said the case is something he and his old team-mates will keep being asked about. "It's the big elephant in the room we're probably all going to be asked when doing interviews or whatever," he said. "It doesn't look great."
He was quick to stand up for the players, though. "Let's not hide from the fact they've been found guilty but they're going through an appeal," Walker said.
"As a player all I can say is all we did is go out and play our best as a team and I'll defend the players for the rest of my life, because I feel what we did and achieved in that time was incredible and probably won't be done ever again. But from the outside looking in, it doesn't look great and we have to address that."
It is thought unlikely that any sporting punishment would come before the appeals process is finished, but the timing and what the penalties might be have not been confirmed.
For now, City carry on with their season under a cloud, and Walker carries on at Burnley with a reminder of the good times on his leg that he may one day want gone.
