Liverpool Hold Key Talks Over Ndukwe’s Future Amid Levante Loan Spell

Liverpool are set to hold talks with the representatives of teenage defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe in the coming days, with a January return to Anfield on the agenda, according to reports in his native Austria.

Sky Sports Austria says the 18-year-old's agency, More than Sport by AS1, will meet Liverpool officials over the weekend to map out his next steps. Ndukwe is on loan at Spanish club Levante, having joined near the end of the summer window. Liverpool kept the option to recall him in January, and that is what the talks will look at.

The big question is whether he comes back in January or stays in Spain for the rest of the season. A return to Anfield has not been ruled out, but it is understood it depends on him being guaranteed enough playing time on Merseyside.

Ndukwe joined Liverpool from Austria Wien earlier this year. He caught the eye in pre-season, but he could not play once the 2026/27 campaign began because of work permit problems. He has since met the requirements to get a permit, so he is now free to play for the Reds.

He is starting to make a name for himself in Spain. He has started Levante's last three La Liga games, and his arrival in the side has helped Luis Castro's team improve after two defeats in a row. With Ndukwe in the starting line-up, Levante have drawn twice and won once. He also scored in a 3-3 draw with Sevilla.

The Spanish press has been full of praise. One outlet went as far as to say he could become "one of the world's top center-backs".
