NPFL Saturday: Kano Pillars Fight Back to Hold Sporting Lagos to 1-1 Draw

Kano Pillars and Sporting Lagos shared the points in a 1-1 draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday, in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 7 game.

The result keeps Kano Pillars unbeaten this season, while Sporting Lagos have now gone three league games without a win.

Valentine Ugwu put the visitors ahead right at the end of the first half, in stoppage time, and the home fans were left stunned. Kano Pillars came back strongly after the break, and Abdullahi Musa pulled them level in the 48th minute.

Both teams had good chances to grab a winner after that, but neither could finish the job, and the game ended all square.

The point moves Kano Pillars up to fifth on the table, while Sporting Lagos climb to eighth.

Daniel Ogunmodede's side travel to Ibadan next to face Shooting Stars. Sporting Lagos will stay at home to host Bendel Insurance in their next league game.
