Gabriel Jesus Joins Barcelona After Four Years at Arsenal

Gabriel Jesus has completed a permanent move to Barcelona, bringing an end to his four years at Arsenal.

The 29-year-old Brazil forward arrived at the Emirates from Manchester City back in July 2022.

In total he played 123 games for Arsenal across all competitions and scored 32 goals.

Jesus was part of Arsenal's Premier League winning squad last season, making 27 appearances, though he missed a big chunk of the 2024/25 campaign after tearing his ACL in January 2025. Before that setback, he had been in great form, netting a hat-trick against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup, then scoring twice more against the same team in the league just three days later.

In a statement on their website, Arsenal praised his record, saying he leaves with a wealth of Premier League experience and a strong track record at the top level of English football. Between his time at Arsenal and Man City, he made over 200 Premier League appearances, scored more than 70 goals, and was part of five title-winning teams.


Jesus came through the youth ranks at Palmeiras in Brazil, making his first-team debut at just 17 before quickly becoming one of the country's most exciting young players. He first grabbed attention on the world stage by helping Brazil's under-23 side win Olympic gold at the Rio 2016 Games, and made his full international debut for the senior team later that year. He went on to play at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

Arsenal closed their statement by thanking Jesus for his contribution over the past four years and wishing him and his family well for the future.
