Ligue 1 Sunday Results: PSG, Lille Secure Wins as Le Mans and Lens Play Out 2-2 Draw
Paris Saint-Germain secured a narrow 1-0 win at Brest, with Ferran Torres scoring early before goalkeeper Matvey Safonov produced a superb display to preserve the clean sheet. Lille also claimed a 2-0 home victory over Troyes, while Le Mans and Lens played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
PSG edged Brest 1-0 away thanks to an early Ferran Torres goal and a superb display from goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who was named player of the match. Torres scored inside five minutes after being set up by Ousmane Dembélé, and that was enough, even though Brest created plenty and hit the woodwork. Safonov made six saves, several of them crucial, to preserve the lead and earned a rating of 9.3, the top mark of the match.
Lille beat Troyes 2-0 at home, with Tiago Santos opening the scoring in the first half and picking up player of the match honors. Substitute Ethan Mbappé wrapped things up deep into stoppage time. Troyes competed hard and had more of the physical battles, but couldn't turn pressure into real chances.
And Le Mans and Lens shared the points in an entertaining 2-2 draw. Le Mans led 2-0 through Adil Bourabaa and Lucas Calodat, but Lens hit back twice before halftime and just after it, through Abdallah Sima and Franjo Ivanović, to level things up. Neither side could find a winner, though Le Mans will feel they had the better of the chances. Calodat was named player of the match for Le Mans despite the draw.
