Trabzonspor Boss Plays Down Onuachu Injury Fears After Brace and Early Exit

Trabzonspor interim coach Hüseyin Çimşir isn't panicking over Paul Onuachu's injury, insisting the Nigerian striker should be fine for the team's next game.

Onuachu picked up a knock during Sunday's 5-0 rout of Gençlerbirliği, a game where he actually scored twice before things went wrong. He was pulled off just before half-time, replaced by new signing Franculino Dju in the 44th minute.

Before the injury, though, Onuachu was in fine form. He put Trabzonspor ahead just five minutes into the match and doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, giving the Black Sea Storm a comfortable cushion before the rest of the team piled on the goals.

Speaking after the game, Çimşir brushed off any serious worry about the injury. "I don't think it's anything serious. There's no problem," he told NTV Spor.

The brace takes Onuachu's tally to two goals in four league appearances so far this season.

Trabzonspor will be back in Süper Lig action away to Konyaspor in their next fixture, and if Çimşir's assessment holds up, Onuachu should be available to lead the line once again.
