Klopp Backs Barcelona to Beat Real Madrid in Sunday's Clasico

Jurgen Klopp says Barcelona are the better team right now and backs them to get the better of Real Madrid in Sunday's Clasico.

The former Liverpool boss told Buli News he will be watching the game, as he always has. "Of course I'll watch El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid. I've watched this game at every stage of my life.

"In the past, I was more of a Barcelona supporter because I used to hate it when Pepe and the other defenders used to clear everything out of the way back then.

"That's the only reason I always supported Barca. These days, I watch it with a neutral perspective.

"Today, I support the better team. And looking at things at the moment, that is probably Barcelona."

Barcelona go into the game six points clear of Madrid at the top of La Liga. A win at Spotify Camp Nou would stretch that gap and pile more pressure on their rivals early in the season.

Their build-up has not been smooth, though. Hansi Flick's side suffered their first defeat of the season in midweek, losing 4-2 to Paris St-Germain in the Champions League, where the French side exposed some weaknesses at the back.

Madrid, on the other hand, arrive in good spirits after a 4-1 win over RB Leipzig in Europe. That result is a confidence boost for the visitors, and it paints a different picture from the league table, where Barcelona hold the edge.
