Premier League: Arsenal Beat Everton, Fulham Edge Coventry as Man City Lose

Arsenal moved level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table after beating Everton 2-0, while Fulham secured a 1-0 victory over Coventry City and Aston Villa ended City's perfect start to the season with a 2-1 win.

At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal took advantage of City's earlier defeat to Villa, with defenders Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes scoring either side of half-time to secure a comfortable victory over Everton.

Konsa opened the scoring in the seventh minute, bundling the ball in at the back post after Arsenal won three consecutive corners. The goal was his first for the club and also the Gunners' first from a set-piece this season.

Everton attempted to respond through James Garner and Tyrique George, but neither could find a way past goalkeeper David Raya. Arsenal dominated the first half, registering 13 shots and winning 10 corners.

The Gunners continued to control the game after the break, with Gabriel doubling their lead in the 68th minute when he headed home Ben White's cross.

Everton had a late chance to reduce the deficit, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's header went narrowly wide as Arsenal secured three important points.

Elsewhere, Fulham claimed back-to-back Premier League victories with a narrow 1-0 win away to Coventry City, thanks to Oscar Bobb's late strike.

The game lacked clear-cut chances for much of the afternoon, but Bobb produced a moment of quality in the 80th minute, weaving past a defender in a crowded penalty area before firing into the bottom corner.

Fulham had come close to opening the scoring earlier when Josh King's effort struck the crossbar. The rebound fell to Alex Iwobi, but he was unable to convert from close range.

Coventry threatened on the counter-attack through Brandon Thomas-Asante but struggled to turn their opportunities into goals. Fulham also had a penalty appeal rejected shortly before half-time after Calvin Bassey and Thomas-Asante became involved in a challenge inside the box.

The Sky Blues suffered another setback when defender Bobby Thomas was forced off with an injury in the 60th minute.

Despite enjoying periods of pressure and holding 36% possession, Coventry failed to find an equaliser. Their attacking struggles continued, with the team managing just 0.5 expected goals.

The defeat leaves Frank Lampard's side 19th in the table, just one place above the bottom, ahead of their next match against Sunderland.

Fulham, meanwhile, move up to 12th with eight points, two clear of Coventry. Although their performance was not particularly convincing, the victory gives manager Alvaro Arbeloa's side another important boost after a difficult start to the season.

Earlier, Aston Villa beat Manchester City 2-1 to end the visitors' perfect start to the Premier League campaign.

Nicolas Jackson scored twice for Villa, including the decisive goal, while Erling Haaland briefly brought City level.

The result handed City their first league defeat of the season and gave Arsenal the opportunity to move level on points at the top, which they took with their victory over Everton.
