Nations League Sunday Roundup: Portugal Rally Past Norway as Denmark Win and Germany Draw
Portugal came from behind to beat Norway 2-1 in Porto and stay perfect under Jorge Jesus, while Denmark won in Cardiff and Germany were held to a goalless draw in Greece.
In League A Group 4, Portugal made it four wins from four under Jesus at the Estádio do Dragão. Norway went ahead in the 36th minute when Kristoffer Ajer chested down a Martin Ødegaard cross and fired into the top corner. Portugal hit back two minutes later, with João Cancelo smashing in a bouncing shot from the edge of the box after a long throw from Nuno Mendes. Gonçalo Ramos got the winner in the 79th minute, poking home from close range after a lay-off from João Félix. It was his third goal in three Nations League starts this year.

Norway had a bad night. Erling Haaland went off injured in the 67th minute, shortly after a near miss, and the team lost for the third time in a row. Portugal also finished with ten men, as Francisco Conceição picked up two quick yellow cards for dissent late on. The win came with Cristiano Ronaldo still out of the picture. He left the camp last week after being dropped, and this was the third game in a row without him. Jesus has said he will deal with the matter after this game. Portugal are now six points clear of Denmark with two games left.
Denmark earned that second place by beating Wales 1-0 in Cardiff. Rasmus Højlund scored a 75th-minute penalty, awarded after Danny Ward lost the ball with a loose pass and then caught Gustav Isaksen as he fell. It was a sad end to a good night for Ward, who had made fine saves from Højlund and Isaksen earlier. Wales barely threatened. Their best chance fell to Brennan Johnson, who sent a half-volley over the bar. It was the third defeat of the campaign for Craig Bellamy's side, and their fifth in a row against Denmark. They sit third on head-to-head record against Norway, and face Norway and Portugal next month.
In Group 2, the Netherlands beat Serbia 2-1 at the Philips Stadion. Tijjani Koopmeiners put the Dutch ahead in the 31st minute, but Serbia levelled four minutes later through Mijat Cvetković, set up by Andrija Terzić. Joshua Zirkzee won it in the 72nd minute from a Tijjani Reijnders assist.
Germany could not find a way through in a 0-0 draw away to Greece at the Stadio Toumbas.
In League B Group 3, Kosovo and Austria shared a 1-1 draw in front of 12,567 fans. Fisnik Asllani put the hosts ahead in the 70th minute after a pass from Edon Zhegrova. Christoph Lang equalised in the 85th minute, set up by Sasa Kalajdzic.
The Republic of Ireland also drew 1-1, with Israel. Troy Parrott gave the Irish the lead with a penalty in the 39th minute, but Dor Peretz levelled just after the break.
